Live Soviet Cinema Music | Olga Amosova

"Some people return from war, but never truly come back to you." "Kakim ty byl, takim ty i ostalsya" (The Way You Were) is a legendary song from the classic Soviet film Cossacks of the Kuban. It is a heartbreaking, deeply feminine confession about waiting through the war for a man whose heart ultimately belonged to the battlefield. In this archive performance from a Day of Remembrance concert on June 22, 2013, we brought this cinematic masterpiece to the stage, blending gentle choreography with pure emotional storytelling.
