Akvarium - Navigator (song by Boris Grebenshchikov) With a crossbow in the metro, and a samurai's katana clenched between my teeth, In virtual armour, though usually, as a rule, without, Unbeknownst to you, I'm gently floating between the both of you A sneaky thief shining in the night, between the sky, both the black and the white. In the drawings of saints, I’m only a barely visible hint of movement, On the news on CNN, I'm the line beyond which you will fail, But for those in the night, I’m a star in an incomprehensible orbit, And a final beacon for those who know they are lost forever. Navigator, could you sing a different canzona to me, I will surely return, wait for me at the final gate, Just one more turn, and I’ll hold my beloved close to my heart But to those who wield a sword, I will tell them, "Shalom, lehitraot." And for now, à la guerre comme à la guerre, all is so calm, At the edge of our dreams, we have stood since the dawn of all time, In a monastery’s hush, we’re companions of the greatest warrior, In an infrared scope, we are seen as the heavenly OMON*. Navigator, could you sing a different canzona to me, I will surely return, wait for me at the final gate, Just one more turn, and I’ll hold my beloved close to my heart But to those who wield a sword, I will tell them, "Shalom, lehitraot."
