Nestled between vineyards and mountains, Ribeauvillé is a very beautiful half-timbered town of 5,000 inhabitants, one of the oldest towns in Alsace. The majestic ruins of three castles rise above the city. The central street is Grand-Rue, and the picturesque neighboring streets, framed by houses of the 15th - 18th centuries, diverge from the central square, decorated with a Renaissance fountain.
